Following the nomination for the Hermes Award, the technology prize bestowed by Hannover Messe, FTS has now won a coveted innovation accolade by the French magazine “mesures“ at the annual award presentation ceremony in Paris. Every year the trade magazine for measuring technology and industrial automation honors exceptional innovations in ten different categories such as automation components or data recording. In the “Automation“ category “Fast Track Switching“ by HARTING convinced the jury and is thereby proving its innovative strengths in an international context. In launching FTS, HARTING has once again underscored the company’s claim and aspirations to create technologies that not only meet current customer demands, but are also geared to future market requirements. Fully compatible with standard Ethernet, Fast Track switches guarantee deterministic data transfer on the field level. The technology factors in the high real-time demands made by automation, without making any changes to standard Ethernet. Automation protocols are handled, identified and transmitted by way of the cut-through technique. Thanks to the Fast Track, other protocols can be overtaken. With this development, the realization of a consistent, uniform network for all corporate applications that is based on a single, unified technology has now become possible.
