Dimensional metrology
In countless areas of research and production, the geometric dimensions of two or three-dimensional parts (such as bodies, machine parts, work pieces) have to be measured with maximum precision.
This applies to the precision manufacture of components and to the control of production processes since even the smallest deviations from the permissible values can lead to considerable malfunctions or damage.
The dimensions to be measured could include the following:
Non-contact 3D topography measurement via infinite microscopy; 3D volume model of a blade contact tip
- Clearance, length, width, height, thickness
- Wall thickness
- Radius, diameter, angle
- Right angularity, squareness
- Straightness, smoothness, deflection
- Parallelism
- Form
Corporate Technology Services offers the following services in the field of dimensional metrology:
Optical and tactile metering sensor of a 3D coordinate measuring device
- Measurement (initial sample, serial parts) of characteristics with statistical evaluation
- Evidence of machine/process/test equipment capabilities
- Standard tests of surface qualities (surface profile, roughness, waviness, contact areas,...)
- Examination/analysis of the geometry, materials or surfaces of products (e.g. the reaction to stresses such as tensile stress, pressure, friction, heat, etc.)
- Determination of measurement and test data as a basis for simulation calculations
