In microsystem technology, a variety of different materials, components and technologies are deployed in order to develop intelligent, miniaturized compound systems.
The microsystem technology unites different fundamental technologies as the mechanics, the optics and new technology fields, as for example new materials.
Due to their small format - individual components measure only few micrometers - micro systems are particularly area and weight-saving.
Also three-dimensional wiring and construction unit carriers (3-D MID) already penetrated into different niches of the micro system technology. They do not only serve as spatial chip carriers and integrate on same building area more functions, they can be a direct component of a housing or of a connector.
