Philip Harting embarked on his career at HARTING in 2005 as Managing Director Asia. Following a three year tenure at the Hong Kong subsidiary, he is now responsible for the Connectivity & Networks area in his function as Vice President. Moreover, Philip Harting is active as a member of the Management Board of the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA).

- 1995 – 1998: Training as an industrial electronics engineer with a specialization in plant equipment technology at Hartmann & Braun GmbH & Co. KG in Minden (formerly: Schoppe & Faeser GmbH)
- 1998 – 2005: Undergraduate course of study in industrial engineering with a specialization in electrical engineering in Braunschweig, and economics and business management in Cologne
- May 2005: Conclusion of undergraduate studies as a graduate business executive
