Work safety, environmental and energy policy

We take our responsibility seriously

Work health and safety, careful stewardship of the environment and energy efficiency are our guiding precepts. They apply to all activities and locations of the HARTING Technology Group.

We understand that nature, society, the economy and every company is a part of a global ecological system, of which the balance and variety of species are decisive for all life to continue. As a business enterprise, we acknowledge our special responsibility in maintaining the health of our employees.

We are convinced that the careful handling of the free resources of water, air and earth as well as flora and fauna with market-based instruments must be guaranteed and that continuous improvements can only be achieved through a joint effort. We see great entrepreneurial opportunities in an environment-oriented, free economic system that ensures well-being for future generations.

As a worldwide company, we can only survive if we pursue the goal of developing in an economic, ecological and social manner and as a member of a sustainable society.
It is in this knowledge that we commit ourselves to acting according to the following principles:

  • HARTING regards the protection of humans and the environment as a matter of fundamental importance. Corporate management will regularly check these work and environmental protection guidelines for new requirements as well as create methods for effectively putting these guidelines into operational practice and providing the necessary resources.
  • HARTING has strengthened its personal sense of responsibility for the environment among all employees and has sharpened their eye for possible environmental burdens due to entrepreneurial activity and our products.
  • HARTING promotes and rewards employees for their contribution to improving occupational safety and environmental performance within the Technology Group. HARTING uses decentralised idea management to assess these improvements. HARTING continuously reduces the dangers and risks of production, sales, utilization, recycling and disposal of its products in order to protect its employees, neighbours, customers and consumers as well as the environment. Occupational, health and environmental aspects are already being taken into account in the development of new products and production processes.
