Robust metal docking frame for easy connections

The Han-Modular® Docking Frame Metal is the new robust connector solution for systems that have to be mated “blind” or coupled automatically – in switch cabinet drawers, for example. This saves customer’s time. The frame works as a receptor for Han-Modular®, in which different modules for the transfer of power, signal and data or compressed air can be located side-by-side. With over 100 different modules, the HARTING modular connector range offers almost endless flexibility and connection options.

Han-Modular® Docking Frame Metal: long leading guide pins bring the two sides of the interface securely together.

The docking frame works without the need for any additional articulated frames, and connector modules can be fitted directly to it, saving time and cost. The frame has two long leading guide pins on the pin side, and these bring the two connector faces together. Located in a +/- 2 mm floating position, the socket face can be oriented to the ideal position. This allows for greater tolerances, ensuring a more secure connection.

Because grounding is separate in many insertion scenarios, the docking frame has no PE contact, but grounding can be added as required with a Han® PE module that can be obtained separately.

The Han-Modular® Docking Connector Metal can be connected either manually (directly/indirectly) or automatically. The particularly robust and mechanically stable construction makes it secure enough for all applications. Machine components can be switched quickly and securely with this system. A cost-effective way for supplying slide-in modules in low-voltage switch gears with signal and data, and energy stores with power and data.
