Philip Harting heads ZVEI trade association “Electronic Components and Systems”

With his election as chairman of the "Electronic Components and Systems" association of ZVEI, the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association, Philip Harting assumes the helm of one of the most important trade associations in the German electrical engineering and electronics industry.

The Chairman of the Board of the HARTING Technology Group succeeds Kurt Sievers (NXP Semiconductors Germany), who departs the office after two terms in office in accordance with the customary rotation. Philip Harting is also a member of the board of the ZVEI Central Association of the Electrical Engineering and Electrical Industries.

Philip Harting views his new task as providing an important step towards giving the German middle class a voice in business and society, in particular family-owned businesses: “Digitisation and artificial intelligence are leading to a complete transformation of value chains. The components industry is close to the customer. As a result, we’re always abreast with the times, and together we’re creating an important crossroads as an industry.”

Philip Harting, Chairman of the Board of the HARTING Technology Group, was elected chairman of the ZVEI Association "Electronic Components and Systems".

The "Electronic Components and Systems" trade association represents one of the most important and revenue-strong sectors within the electrical industry. With its segments of semiconductors, passive and electromechanical components and microsystem technology – sensors/actuators, the industry achieved sales of almost 17 billion euros in 2016 in Germany.
