Achieving business goals with IoT

Which technical and organisational solution modules are needed to accomplish a particular business goal with IoT? Visitors to SPS (from 26 to 28 November 2019 in Nuremberg) can find answers to that question at the HARTING stand (hall 10/stand 140) in exclusive workshops and at practical demonstrators.

The smart Factory at the HARTING stand is a prime example of fully integrated processes. The machine demonstrates all aspects of Industry 4.0 impressively and shows that a field-level network and IT provide new added value to the customer. A key element for creating a network and production-oriented data processing is the Edge Computer MICA® which connects production and IT using the OPC UA standard interface.

Partner companies in the MICA.network, the user organisation centring around the HARTING MICA® are presenting additional IoT solutions that use MICA® at the HARTING stand in hall 10

  • PerFact Innovation has created as an addition to Smart Factory, the digital twin of the facility and the robots. The virtual representation enables the tracking of production processes as well as remote maintenance and condition monitoring. Thanks to the PerFact technology, downtimes can be reduced and plant availability significantly increased;
  • Visitors to SPS can join short workshops with SIC! software where IoT solution modules are developed for your own business goals. During the mini-workshop, actors, from among the participants, together with their requirements will be nominated for achieving these business goals. The company is also showing how intelligent solutions for condition monitoring can be implemented in conjunction with the AWS Cloud.
  • Expleo Germany GmbH is demonstrating the many possible uses of artificial intelligence to optimise the processes and operations of machines and production facilities. Based on the data, which is obtained with the help of the so-called "digital retrofit", the SmartANIMO application developed by Expleo can learn the standard behaviour of attached lines and individual machines autonomously and use this knowledge to detect deviations in the process.  These faults detected at an early stage are used to increase the overall efficiency of the plant with a focus on predictive quality or predictive maintenance;
  • Together with HARTING, T-Systems has developed a solution package that can aggregate, monitor and analyse the data from industrial applications in real time. This makes it possible to manage the industrial applications with optimised transparency. Necessary actions for controlling the industrial processes can be detected early and actively triggered. The solution package consists of the MICA® box, freely selectable sensors and the IoT platform Cloud of Things. The IoT platform from T-Systems uses a wide variety of different protocols to establish a data connection to all MICA® variants and can be flexibly selected. The demonstrator is a steam engine retrofitted with sensors that transmits data in a matter of seconds so that even industrial applications can also be simulated.
