Governor Rauner, HARTING and Elgin Mayor Kaptain announced that HARTING will expand it's manufacturing facilities creating 50 new jobs within 24 months.

HARTING: Bringing Manufacturing Back to Illinois

Illinois Manufacturing Highlights:

  • Manufacturing is the third largest industry in Illinois by employment with more than 580,000 workers.
  • Illinois is the fourth largest manufacturing state in the nation by output.
  • Manufacturing makes up 93.6 percent of all Illinois goods exported.

What This Means for Manufacturing in Illinois

With this expansion, HARTING has committed to adding 50 new jobs within in the next 24 months.  In addition, we will be looking to continue to expand our manufacturing presence in Illinois.  We anticipate adding 250 new jobs within the next 5 years. These jobs will include positions in departments, such as Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing. 

What Elgin Has to Offer:

  • Home of 5,700 businesses, including 600 manufacturing facilities. 
  • Elgin holds over 72% of the existing inventory of manufacturing space in the northern Kane County market. 
  • Prime location along I-90 and other major roads, the Chicago market and O'Hare airport make it an ideal location for international and domestic business.
