Newsletter and Microsoft marketing
As part of your registration to receive an e-mail newsletter, we require your e-mail address to which the newsletter will be sent. Any further information is provided voluntarily and will be used to address you personally and to adapt the newsletter to your personal preferences and to clarify queries about your e-mail address. This processing of your personal data by HARTING is based on your express and specific consent transmitted in the registration process.
In order to receive the newsletter, a valid e-mail address, country and language are required. The IP address through which the user registers for the newsletter is also stored, as well as the date and time when the user requests the newsletter. We need this data as evidence in case of abuse or fraud, in the event that the e-mail address registered for the newsletter does not belong to the user. To provide additional security against improper registration of an e-mail address by third parties on our mailing list, we offer a "double opt-in" procedure. In this procedure, you will receive a confirmation e-mail after registration, sent to the specified e-mail address. You will only receive the desired e-mail newsletter if you confirm your registration by clicking on a link contained in this e-mail. Within the framework of this procedure, the ordering of the newsletter, the sending of the confirmation e-mail and the receipt of the registration confirmation are recorded.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that we will evaluate your user habits when we send you newsletters. To do this, we use the tracking functions of Microsoft Marketing (Sandyford Business Estate, Dublin 18, Ireland). The data is stored in Microsoft Azure Services from Microsoft Ireland Operations (Sandyford Business Estate, Dublin 18, Ireland) such as MS Dynamics or Power BI. Your data is not stored on servers outside the EU.
The e-mails sent contain so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which represent single-pixel image files that are stored on our website. For these evaluations, we combine the collected data and web beacons with your e-mail address and an individual ID. Links received in the newsletter also contain this ID. We use the data thus acquired to create a user profile and tailor the newsletter to your individual interests. In the process, we record when you read our newsletter, which links you click on and from this we deduce your personal interests. We combine this data with the actions you take on our website.
Tracking via web beacons or tracking pixels is not possible if you have deactivated the display of images in your e-mail programme as a standard setting. In this case, the newsletter will not be fully displayed and you may not be able to use all of its functions. If you have the images displayed manually, the tracking described above will be carried out. More information about the specific cookies and technologies used can be found in the Cookie Settings on our Website.
You have the option to revoke your consent to the storage of your data, e-mail address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time with effect for the future. In each newsletter we provide you with a link for such a revocation. You also have the option of communicating your wish to revoke your consent in writing to the contact options indicated in this policy.
