Web-seminar - Modularisation and digitalisation using Han® Configurator 2022

Han-Modular® Domino Modules :
The next level of modular industrial connectors

Han-Modular® Domino modules, will take the world of modular industrial connectors to the next level. Just as dominoes have two separate squares, a domino module is made up of two building blocks or cubes. Each domino module consists of a cube with a small tab and a cube with a large tab. The cubes can be flexibly joined to form modules as required.

We understand that each customers have their own requirement. With Han® Configurator, you can now tailor-made with your specification and reach perfect fit solutions without compromises due to new customising functions.

The next level of modular industrial connectors

The foundation for today's industrial transformation is formed by basic technologies such as interfaces for the transmission of power, data and signals. HARTING is therefore launching the Han-Modular® Domino modules, which will take the world of modular industrial connectors to the next level. They open up new possibilities for optimisation, including space and weight savings of up to 50%, thus reducing the CO2 footprint.

Less work, lower energy costs

Installers also benefit: With shorter assembly times, the overall labour input is reduced. This picks up on the megatrend of demographic change and counteracts the shortage of skilled workers. The lighter and smaller interfaces support decarbonisation. A major rail manufacturer has calculated that a train in operation saves 14,000 EUR in energy costs with every kilo of weight over the 40-year service life. The calculation is based on the energy prices of 2015; today, the value is significantly higher due to the cost increase.

Together shaping the connectivity of the future

The social megatrends of sustainability, (de)globalisation and demographic change drive the technological megatrends – especially modularity, autonomy and the digital twin. The products, services, solutions and mindset of the Technology Group's Connectivity+ strategy are focussed on precisely these megatrends and provide answers to the challenges of the future. In addition, we always create real added value for our customers and partners.

Customised industrial connectors

The Han® Configurator is an online-tool for the design of industrial connectors. It enables users to quickly and easily design the optimal interface for their application. Only components or specifications that meet the requirements and are compatible to the rest of the connector can be selected. Users benefit as the tool ensures the configuration is done right the first time. Moreover, they can easily integrate the result into their own processes, as the solution found is immediately available in a digital form.

Web-seminar selected FAQ

Yes. It is compatible with the components of the Han-Modular® series, the market standard for modular industrial connectors.

Depends on the application, usually this will work because the cat 7A module and the cat 7A cable is fully shielded, nevertheless in railway applications it is not allowed to combine power and data modules in one connector.

The interference depends on the specific situation. Normal power supply with 50 / 60 Hz usually don’t disturb other signal lines. But for very sensitive signals we offer also shielded modules and we also offer EMC housings.
In practice you can combine power, signal and RF into one connector in many cases, as long as the cables are installed side by side, then you can combine them also in a connector.

The smallest housing is the Han-Modular compact for 1 module, then we have frames and housings for 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 modules (L32B for 8 modules), furthermore there are Han 48 B housings available which are suitable for two frames (2 x 6 modules).
