Large buildings, like data centers or logistic hubs, require a Building Automation System (BAS) to control Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), lighting and security systems. Like other businesses, the level of automation for these subsystems is constantly rising, which leads to more and more field devices that must be controlled. The control cabinets for those subsystems are built with fused terminal blocks or circuit breakers to protect the automation devices against short-circuits or overcurrent. In the event of a short circuit, resolving the fault and finding the broken fuse in one of many control cabinets is a timeconsuming task that must be performed by expensive skilled workers. The cabinet, field device, and wiring diagrams must all be checked and troubleshot.
