SPE Ecosystem Overview

Ethernet over a single twisted pair means the delivery of Ethernet communication using just one set of twisted wires, rather than two or four. This new technology allows the deployment to every device on a network and bring Ethernet to the plant floor level for the first time.

In order to make SPE an enabler of the smart field level and the IIoT, a uniform infrastructure and device components that coordinate with each other and function is necessary. Components include Single Pair industrial Ethernet cable, connectors, and chipsets.

Single Pair Ethernet is the infrastructure basis that makes IIoT and Industry 4.0 possible.
