With the cable on the PCB - har-flexicon®

har-flexicon®

HARTING Technology Group is further expanding its portfolio of PCB terminals and PCB connectors, lending effective support to the trend towards modularization and miniaturization in industrial electronics. Product developers have maximum design freedom at their disposal.
With a pitch of 1.27 mm, the smallest PCB connector in the har-flexicon® product family is extremely miniaturized, making it unique on the market in the area of field-installable single-wire connection. To increase the contact density, HARTING has transferred the functionality of printed circuit board terminals and connectors in the standard contact pitches such as 3.5/3.81 mm and 5.0/5.08 mm to the smaller contact pitches of 1.27 mm and 2.54 mm while maintaining the same industrial grade quality.
Rapid, tool-less termination technologies with push-in springcage and IDC offer time-saving assembly in the field, without special tools and with the smallest pitch.

The har-flexicon® connector from HARTING is the miniature SMD connector for the quick connection of single conductors and provides a perfect connection between peripherals and PCB for industrial devices.

Consistently reflow-soldering capable SMD technology for termination elements on the printed circuit board means clear cost advantages in production. This applies to both loading and soldering. Innovative solutions here help to create the necessary strength on the PCB. Supplementing this are products for higher currents and thus higher gauges (1.5 mm² and 2.5 mm²) in the pitch increments 3.50/3.81 mm and 5.00/5.08 mm. New Solutions for industry The central area of application for these new solutions with respect to the single-wire connection of printed circuit boards is industrial automation together with measuring, control and regulation technology (MCR), as well as mechanical engineering, power engineering and transportation technology. HARTING provides solutions to all industries where electrical and electronic devices such as PLCs, drives, sensors, actuators and interface sub-assemblies etc. are used.HARTING is consequently continuing the path already taken with har-flex® to rethink and optimize device connection technology. For even higher current ratings, we offer contact pitches for 10.16/15mm with wire conductor sizes up to 25mm2.

1. Insulation Displacement Connection.

With the insulation displacement connection, the printed circuit board connector with 1.27mm pitch is the smallest field-assembly plug connector on the market.

2. Push-in spring-loaded connection technology

Quick and easy connection of rigid and flexible single cores with and without ferrules without special tools.

3. Additional SMT hold downs

Additional SMT hold-downs ensure a robust connection of the connector to the printed circuit board. The signal contacts are thus protected against mechanical stress, which overall contributes to increased reliability of the overall system.

4. Active locking

An active locking of the plug connector with the base strip allows a reliable and shock and vibration resistant connection.

5. Automatically equipped.

har-flexicon® printed circuit board connectors are designed for automatic pick & place assembly processes and can be processed in the reflow soldering process with other SMD components. Both simplify PCB assembly and enable low overall process costs.

NEW White connection technology for LED applications

For the connection of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), white printed circuit board terminals and connectors with a pitch of 2.54 mm reduce the shadowing in the luminaire. The SMT reflow-enabled components are ideal for use on metal core printed circuit boards, which are preferred for better heat dissipation of high-power LEDs.
