What are Push Pull connectors?

Pushpull Connectors

PushPull connectors are quick connect electrical connectors.  The push pull connectors have an internal locking mechanism, which provides a secure and robust connection without any requirement to twist into place or use levers. This innovation makes connection and disconnection of the connector simple, even in the case of outdoor connectors or hard-to-reach locations. The audible click lets the user know when a connection is in place. Thanks to the corrosion resistance of the plastic housings and hoods.

Benefits:

  • Easy to connect / disconnect
  • Internal locking mechanism instead of level enables higher space density
  • Corrosion resistance hoods and housings
HARTING PushPull SFP XS

HARTING PushPull SFP XS

Outdoor applications - such as cell towers, surveillance cameras, and train signaling require reliable communication connectivity specifically designed for harsh environments. Unlike indoor applications, LC Fiber Optic and RJ45 connections in these environments face problems, such as contamination from dirt, that can result in poor performance or even complete loss of communication.

The HARTING PushPull SFP XS eliminates this problem with its rugged housing and fully protected contacts - creating a compact, reliable, and safe solution for outdoor Communication connectivity.

Benefits

  • Reliable – Optical contacts with pre-mounted transceiver ensure easy and reliable installation even in the harshest environments.
  • Compact - An ultra-short cable connector combined with the receptacle, which offers a tolerance of 56-64mm to accommodate different transceiver lengths, results in the shortest mated connector.
  • Flexible - LC Fiber pushpull connectors or RJ45 pushpull connectors can be used with the same receptacle. Multiple ribs on the receptacle accommodate different transceiver lengths.
  • Rugged - IP 67 rating for protection from dust in harsh environments.
  • Easy to Use - Internal PushPull locking mechanism, blind mating, color-coding and utilization of standardized SFP transceivers and quick disconnect make HARTING PushPull SFP XS connectors extremely easy to handle providing error-free mating process.
  • Space Saving - Smaller size and optimized receptacle offers the possibility of miniaturizing the end device.  Smaller size and optimized receptacle offer the possibility of stacking receptacles very close to one another, allowing for a smaller footprint of an end device.
  • Fail-safe - Audible clicks indicate when connector is fully plugged in, while color coding and blind mating options prevent connection errors.
  • Lightweight - PushPull hood and housing is made from a plastic material, offering a very light weight and robust solution.
